 o      Full-Time Staff in Washington, D.C

o       Prepares testimony and testifies

o       Covers all Committee and Sub-Committee hearings that deal with Veterans and the Military

o       Veteran Affairs

o       Armed Services

o       Others as required

o      52 National Legislative Committee Members

o       Appointed by the Commander-in-Chief

o       Correspond and communicate personally with Members of Congress in home their home states and districts

o       Lobby in Washington two to three times per year en-masse

o       Legislative Committee taking issues to Capital Hill Sends a very powerful message

o      Employment Director

o       Cover veterans employment issues both with the Labor Department and Congress

o       Key Issues over last few years:

§        USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act of 1994)

§        Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act

o      Executive Director

o       Represents the VFW to the Administration, serving on many Presidential Task Forces dealing with the VA
